Scott Pearce

President/Ownerscott@fgsnursery.com

Scott grew up in and Lakeland, Florida and lived there most of his life.  He owned and operated a lawn and pest management company there until he sold it and moved to North Carolina in 2008.  Scott managed For Garden’s Sake from 2010 to 2015.  He and his wife, Marsha, then purchased For Garden’s Sake and they have been running it ever since.  Scott’s degree in Business and Professional Leadership has come in handy over the years managing the three divisions of FGS.  He loves spending time and traveling out West and in the NC mountains with Marsha, his newly-married daughter and son-in-law, and his two teenage boys.   Scott is an excellent musician and uses his talents when he has the opportunity (and time).

Marsha Pearce

Vice-President/Owner, marsha@fgsnursery.com

Marsha grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then Lakeland, Florida.  Marsha began her career in the Purchasing Department at Publix.  She then went into business with Scott and co-owned their lawn and pest management company in Florida.  She spent a few years at home with her three children until five years ago when she began part-time at FGS.  Now, she wears many hats here at FGS, but primarily works with the landscape sales team.  She doesn’t know a stranger and loves trying new things.  She refurbishes old furniture, spends time in the garden and works with wood.  She loves the smell of freshly cut wood and dreams of one day being a carpenter.

Chip Pearce

Moral Support Administrator/Human Resources, chip@fgsnursery.com

Chip rules the house where he lives with his three siblings in Cary, NC.  He has received special training in the fields of patience, kindness and love.  He is exceptionally good at reading people’s feelings, providing a listening and non-judgmental ear and will even lick tears away if needed.  He has found that his services as therapy-dog are often required in our environment.  When he isn’t working as a therapy dog or curled up at Marsha’s feet, he is cleaning floors, taking out the trash, or begging Scott and Marsha to take him out more often.   Technically, he is a Cock-a-Poo, but honestly, he is probably a toy poodle.

While the NC region present a different challenge than VT, he loves the challenge the new landscape brings.  Nate loves spending time with his wife and two kids.  His hobby of fixing up his 1983 Jeep CJ7 keeps him busy on the weekends.
